The Matchmaking Flight

How far will you go to find The One?

Well, seem likes this website is for people wanting to come over to New Zealand? I could be wrong. But I am thinking of heading over the Los Angeles to kill off some of my annual leave. Seems like a fun place from what I gather from good old TVs and movies and abit of lonely planet browsing.

Any good recommendation on the time of the year to go? and maybe other things which is good to know?

always good to hear from personal comments rather than the commercialize books

Venice Beach-Lily's-a French bistro is nice if you want to have dinner. A lot of working folk n The Industry hang. Santa Monica Pier. Do the West Hollywood tour in the hearse. Laguna Beach is a wonderful place in OC to back. Drive the PCH up through Malibu if you are a biker rent a Harley and do it-if not a convertible for the day is awesome. People love Gladstone's, but my favorite is The Chart House, but get an Ocean View Table after dark and watch the waves crash. Further up is cross Creek Village for some light shopping spotting John Varvatos, Ralph Lauren, and a lot of local bling, the locals and a coffee. You can get to Oxnard collect some awesome strawberries and stop at the airport (private aviation only) and have a light lunch of coffee next to the runway and view the Confederate Air Force (vintage planes) on a weekend. There is also a big outlet mall just up the road in Camarillo for great bargains. Both locations of the Getty Museum are a wonderful trip, but the inland version (not the Villa) is best if you can do only one. Huntington Beach-surf city, usa. That's a start!

I live in San Diego which is 2 hrs. south of Los Angeles. California and the Southwestern USA have a ton of stuff to see depending on your interest. Shoot me any questions and I'd be happy to answer them. Suzanne

From my friend who lived in LA for years. My daughter lived in LA for 3 years. I did enjoy the tour of the Stars homes when I visited her. Went to Venice Beach and Santa Monica each. She lived on a house on Hermosa Beach.

I love the Getty Museum http://www.getty.edu/visit/ (I have only been to the Getty Center, not the one in Malibu – great place to have coffee & see the views)
Rent rollerblades or bike on Santa Monica Beach – there is very nice bike path on the beach, and you can also walk south on the bike path to Venice Beach
Main Street in Santa Monica has a ton of good restaurants & coffee shops also, after rollerblading ok to go as you are, no need to dress up….unless you want to!
There are TONS of movie theatres, just dial whatever area code you’re in + 777-FILM to get movie showtimes & ticket info
There are also movie studios, bus tours, etc. Any major hotel will have that info in their lobby.
